Jim Sloman is an admirer of the great directors Ingemar Bergman and Federico Fellini, among others. In the late 50's and early 60's, with such luminous films as Wild Strawberries, The Seventh Seal, La Strada and 8 1/2, they assembled an ensemble of cast, crew and vision which then made one masterpiece after another.
Their idea of working with the same people in film after film worked extremely well, if we can judge by results. Blueberry Pictures intends to emulate that process as much as possible.
An independent feature called Departure is currently in pre-production, although it is on the back burner until The Great Transition is finished. The film deals with a character's breakdown, despair, disillusionment and death, and before dying, an embrace of all of those things and more in a spiritual opening.
