(This is Part 24 of a series. Go back to Part 23.)

All self-arising networks in nature—which includes everything—are self-regulating, that is, all processes in existence are self-regulating. Negatives lead to positives. Positives lead to negatives. The one reality is a self-reflecting mirror to itself everywhere.

So negativities, catastrophes, defeats and so on always lead to positivities and benefits, either at the level of the current network or at the level of the network one or two degrees above this one. (All networks are composed of smaller networks and in turn are part of larger networks.)

Another view of the same phenomenon: This self-regulating process that we see everywhere can also be seen when a body begins a fast or goes on a living-foods diet. The body begins a cleansing and reorganizing process. And the symptoms of this process, which can be uncomfortable and seem negative, are really leading to greater health as the bodily network reorganizes itself.

The general principle involved is this:

All negative processes are ultimately part of constructive processes.

Actually, of course, there are no "negatives" or "positives" in reality itself, which is always just whatever it is, an indivisible oneness. But to our conceptual mind, reality appears as an endless series of dualities. Opposite dualities must always complement each other, because all dualities are actually just different surfaces of the same phenomenon.

For instance, what we call "day" and "night" are actually two faces of one phenomenon, the spinning of the earth. What we call "summer" and "winter" are actually two faces of one phenomenon, the tilting of the earth on its axis. "Clear day" and "cloudy day" are two parts of the same underlying ecological network.

All events are similarly balanced. Just as "day" is balanced with "night" and must be, and "summer" is balanced with "winter" and must be, so "light" is always balanced with "dark" and must be, and "negative" is always balanced with "positive" and must be, because the light/dark, positive/negative, winning/losing, pleasure/pain dualties are also always one phenomenon appearing as two faces.

If you look carefully at your life, you may see that the very things which you labelled "negative" or "catastrophic" have ultimately led to positive explorations, developments and dimensions which wouldn't have occurred otherwise. It must be so, because one part of a duality can't exist by itself; it must either exist simultaneously with its opposite—duality in space—or lead to its opposite in an endless cycle—dualtiy in time.

But in any case, all dualities are always balanced within each other. As mentioned before, reality is a gigantic mirror, constantly reflecting itself back and forth as dualities-within-oneness. Indeed, from our human perspective, reality cannot exist except as dualities.

Once we truly grasp this, we see that, so to speak:

All calamities, negativities, failures, defeats, tragedies and so on are the very things which make possible the positive things in life.

And as well, because all phenomena in existence are balanced, dualistic and self-regulated:

Whenever we experience anything "negative," of any kind whatsoever, it too is serving the Higher Cause.
