The State of the World is the prequel to another book, A Global Vision. The two books are two parts of a unified whole. A Global Vision builds upon the themes of The State of the World, and then focuses on what a sustainable planet would look like and be like, in various dimensions.
As we explore together these present and future global dimensions in The State of the World, you may find some elements that seem disheartening at first. Yet bear in mind, if you will, that ultimately our growth into a unified humanity is woven into the very challenges that seem so daunting to us now. In that sense, our great challenges have the potential to be both rewarding and sublime.
As important as our external journey is during these uncertain times, it's our inner journey as a species that will count the most in the end, as we birth a collective human heart and consciousness that may seem wildly improbable at present.
A major part of that new consciousness will be in our increasing perception that all things, both light and dark, both large and small, important and seemingly trivial, are interconnected.
